LAPIDARIUM is a contemporary womenswear label, founded by Marta Gos and Martyna Sobczak after graduating from Fashion Design Technology Menswear at London College of Fashion. The brand main inspiration is nature- structures, patterns and colours of fauna and flora found in everyday life. The focus are also contemporary artists, whose visual vocabulary are vivid colour compositions with vertiginous, abstract, playful lines. The brand works closely with fabrication and materials, creates own prints or collaborates with London based printers. The signature of the label are strong silhouettes constructed and cut in a bold way, using finest materials in contrasting colours and unexpected textures. LAPIDARIUM focuses on craftsmanship. All pieces are produced and made in the UK, with fabrics supplied mainly by the Italian, French and UK mills. The label uses certified organic fabrics and recycled materials, from a yarn to a finished product. The collections are lovingly and ethically produced in London. The aim of the brand is to bring socially and environmentally conscious fashion to high-end audience. LAPIDARIUM plans to develop recycling programs with fabric suppliers and work on sustainability through fabric development and waste management processes at the same time creating timeless, unique pieces for modern and conscious customers. It is the label created by two women designers, for women who not only are strong and independent, but also object socially created norms.
